Getting Answers in Dreams—There Is Always a Way

By Harold Klemp

At some level Soul knows everything. If there is something that you would like to bring into consciousness, here is a way to get help.

Before you go to sleep, relax and decide that upon awakening you will have an answer to whatever it is that you desire.

When you awaken, it will be in the forefront of your thoughts. At the moment of slipping from or into sleep, you are opened to truth and in direct contact with it. It is at this point that you will perceive your answer. Read More

Seeing through the Inner Senses

ECKANKAR, Harold Klemp, HU inner visionBy Harold Klemp

“The extrovertive way looks outward, through the physical senses into the external world, finding there the greater experience of the divine reality. The introvertive way turns inward, with an introspective manner of seeing through the inner senses and eyes to find the greater experience of the divine reality beyond the human consciousness.”

Soul—an Eternal Spark of God

By Thomas, Spain

Throughout my life, I’ve always managed to find work that is fulfilling. I’ve been an author, artist, and poet, and I have spoken at many cultural institutions on a variety of academic topics.

These jobs give me a lot of freedom, satisfaction, and contentment. But although I am able to support myself, my work hasn’t brought me a lot of financial success. Occasionally, I’ve still had to take a job that was less inspiring to me so I could make ends meet.

When these times came, I found myself facing a nagging fear: What if I lost the good fortune of earning my living in a creative way and was no longer able to do the things I loved to do? I was afraid of losing my freedom, afraid that life would become nothing but drudgery and routine work.

This fear haunted me. I couldn’t get rid of it, no matter how hard I tried. Often, I asked the Mahanta to help me understand where this fear came from. But I didn’t get any insights, and nothing seemed to change. Read More

For a New Approach to Life

Shariyat SpirEX Bk1_CoverBy Harold Klemp

“Hold all and wait. The questions that are in one’s mind will be worked out eventually without a word from the Master. The light becomes stronger and the darkness vanishes in the reorganization of the inner man and his thinking processes and habits. Do not make the mistake of trying to fit the teachings of ECK into the old ways of thinking. Drop all and start over again.”

Shariyat-Ki-Sugmad, Bk. 1, p. 96

Do you have a problem or a question you would like to get beyond? In contemplation, sing HU for several minutes, and open your heart to divine love.

In your Spiritual Eye, see the Light of ECK entering your inner being and reorganizing the atoms of your thoughts and habits. The sparkling Light of ECK soothes and uplifts you in spirit. Continue this exercise for fifteen to twenty minutes or more.

Watch for a subtle feeling of lightness in your heart and mind as you go about your day.

Spiritual Exercise: Restoring Harmony

ECKANKAR, HU, Protection, HealingBy Harold Klemp

Whenever somebody is making it difficult for you at work, simply sing HU quietly to yourself.  Let the other person vent his rage, and just wait and see what the ECK will do to work out the situation.

You’ll find that you know what to say or not to say, when to speak or be quiet, when and how to keep out of the individual’s way, or whether it will be necessary to appeal to the person’s supervisor to get him off your back.

When you run into these things, by all means sing HU to open yourself as a channel for God.  You don’t use the HU to change the other person’s state of consciousness; you use it for your protection.

It surrounds you with a blanket of white light, and whatever is thrown at you must return to the sender.  The person who attacks you often finds himself so busy with his own problems that he no longer has time to continue his attacks on you.

Spiritual Exercise: Finding Yourself in Eternity

By Harold Klemp

Every night upon retiring, relax on the bed. Watch the process of going to sleep. Keep your attention on the point between the eyebrows, the Spiritual Eye.

As your body relaxes and your mind settles down, that change in viewpoint takes place which we call sleep. Maintain the attitude of awareness. You will note your body getting quiet and your thoughts settling down. Hearing is often the last to leave the human consciousness. You will be detached on the borderline state, as though in a dream. Spiritual Exercise: How to Get to the Front of the Line

ECKANKAR_Spiritual Exercies of ECK BookBy Harold Klemp

Visualize yourself where you are right now, then chant HU and imagine yourself where you want to be. Do this spiritual exercise for a few minutes, putting all your attention on it. Then relax and release the situation to the Holy Spirit, the ECK.

A man in Africa used this technique when the clinic where he brought his very ill son was completely full. After four hours of waiting, he began to wonder if he’d ever get to see the doctor. His son was getting worse by the hour. Read More

Spiritual Exercise: Listening for the Sacred Sounds

love-song-to-god_rita-maupinBy Harold Klemp

When you go to bed, listen in a gentle, calm way to the night sounds. Sometimes you’ll hear the night birds, the hum of air conditioning, the traffic outside, a helicopter flying overhead, or the soft rumble of voices. Just lie in bed and listen. You hear these different sounds so often that you unconsciously erase them from your mind. Put some attention on them now. Read More

Spiritual Exercise: Show Me Love

show-me-loveBy Harold Klemp

If you don’t know anything about ECK, the main tool you have to work with at this point may be prayer—your communication with God. If you are sincerely interested in truth, in knowing who you are and why you belong here, ask God in your prayers: “Show me truth.”

If your heart is pure, the Lord will bring truth into your life. But don’t expect it to come in a way that fits your expectations; it may come in a different way. It may come through the gift of a book or by way of a person telling you one small step that you need to take before you can go to the next step. Read More

Spiritual Exercise: For Cleanliness of Spirit

inner_worlds_25_color_hiBy Harold Klemp

“He must practice the disciplines of ECK. The first is to have cleanliness of mind, that no words which would pollute the air enter into his mind. He shall look upon all men as creatures of God and this only; for they, like himself, are temples who shall eventually become Co-workers with God.”

Shariyat-Ki-Sugmad, Bk. 1, p. 100

Close your eyes, and chant the letters H-U for several minutes. In your Spiritual Eye, imagine a beautiful inner temple, constructed of the Light and Sound of God. See how the Light and Sound cleans, polishes, and purifies each detail of the inner temple of Soul. You may want to stay with this exercise for thirty minutes.

In your outer life, give extra care to cleaning one thing with all your love and attention. Be aware of the Light and Sound working through you.
