This story is about “Matthew” from Ghana, and how he learned the secrets of health and harmony.
For two days, Matthew had been bedridden with malaria, and he took medications to help him get through this. Then he tried a healing technique. He thought, Being an ECKist, I’m going to try something. So he envisioned, or imagined, some of the ECK Masters helping him heal the rest of the way.
This clip—and the transcript below—is from Harold Klemp’s talk “The Breath of God” in 2006.
“Lisa” is an Australian, and some time ago she lost her first daughter. The girl was only three months old when she passed away. Lisa was heartbroken. But later she realized that she had repaid karma of a certain kind, both with that Soul and of her own.
Through this, she learned to value life more than she did before. Then, seven years later, she had a second daughter. Read More
An agnostic joined Eckankar. He stayed an agnostic for a long time, but he developed a great respect for life.
He used to love to go fishing. He’s from the midwestern United States, and he’d go out to the western part of Colorado to do his trout fishing.
This man used a special hook that had no barbs so that he could unhook the fish with the smallest amount of injury and throw the fish back into the stream. He’d thank the fish, the way the Native Americans used to. They always gave thanks for any food that they needed to take from the theater of life because they realized that to survive one must eat another, whether it’s animal or plant. It’s a part of living.
Today we have people who are very self-righteous about being vegetarians. They feel they are more righteous because they don’t eat meat. They are eating plants, as if plants don’t have life or consciousness. Read More
My goal is to be completely open to Divine Spirit. To put this into practice, I try to put love in everything I do, as the ECK Masters do.
Closely related to this, I try to do everything as if I was doing it for God alone. This point helps me tremendously to give even more of myself in service. Love is the key!
A couple weeks ago, my wife and I were taking our daily walk in the neighborhood, and we came across a lady, “Cheryl,” who is working at a place called The Beach Club. Cheryl is in her forties. She has two kids involved in all sort of activities, and she told us how she was bustling with so many activities that most nights she can’t sleep. She has insomnia. She tried everything, she said. This is a road map to the inner planes or heavens. You can use this chart to plan your spiritual travels or to better understand where you have been or what you have experienced.
There is a bold line dividing the top half and lower half of the chart; this separates the lower worlds from the higher God Worlds of ECK. Thus, the chart shows which worlds are predominantly negative and which are positive (this is noted on the left side of the chart). The right side of the chart shows that the lower worlds are the training ground for Self-Realization and the higher worlds are the training ground for God-Realization. Read More
I and my then fiancée (now wife) had an encounter with an ECK Master. It was in the summer of 1989 in La Jolla, California.
My fiancée and I had parked our car at Torrey Pines State Beach on the coastline. We hiked south along the beach. We passed by a trail which led from the beach up to the cliff tops that looked over the sea. I thought to myself “There’ll be another one up ahead that we can take.”
Well it turned out that there was no other trail up ahead and we wound up walking all the way to Scripps Pier to the south before we could turn inland to make our way back. A distance of several miles. Read More
My beloved Golden Retriever Kirby had cancer and pancreatitis. I did not do very well at all spiritually during the months before his translation. The thought of being separated from him in the physical was not only sad, but filled me with fear. He and his sister had been such bright lights during some of my darkest hours, and I could not imagine being without this bit of heaven here on earth.
After he translated I was very sad for months, and the sleep that I lacked during the months of nursing him day and night had really thrown me out of balance. After six months I had the following dream. I was riding a bicycle and both he and his sister were running alongside me. I knew that my destination was too far for them to continue and I wondered what to do. Read More
Years ago, Lenny had gone hunting in a neighbor’s field with his father, brother, and a neighbor friend. Tragedy was to change Lenny’s life. Lightning struck both him and his neighbor, who died immediately. Lenny himself went into cardiac arrest. His brother revived him en route to the hospital. In the emergency room, however, Lenny’s heart then failed again.
The medical staff tried everything in its power to revive him, but without success. Grave, hopeless seconds flew away like falcons upon the wind. Unable to make out a sign of life, the doctor signaled a nurse to pull the plug. As she bent over to disconnect the monitors, the faintest bleep sounded from the EKG.
